Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta es el nombre verdadero de la extravagante Lady Gaga. Nacida el 28 de marzo de 1986 en Manhattan, Nueva York, sus aptitudes y talento para la música comenzaron a aflorar siendo muy pequeña. La versátil artista irrumpió en la escena al firmar un contrato, hacia fines de 2007, con Streamline Records, discográfica en la cual trabajaba como compositora. Su voz llamó la atención del artista Akon, quien la hizo firmar un contrato con Kon Live Distribution. Lady Gaga adquirió fama como cantante tras el lanzamiento de su álbum debut, The Fame (2008), que incluye los sencillos Just Dance y Poker Face. El disco llegó al primer lugar en numerosas listas de éxitos. Posteriormente lanzó el EP The Fame Monster (2009), cuyo éxito la llevó a una gira de ocho meses, que se considera como una de las series de conciertos con mayores ingresos económicos generados en la historia de la industria musical. Le siguieron Born This Way (2011), Artpop (2013), que se convirtió en su segundo fonograma número uno en Estados Unidos; Cheek to Cheek (2014), un álbum de jazz en colaboración con Tony Bennett y Joanne.
